The Living Roots Foundation is a registered non-profit which is legally established in Meghalaya (India) under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act, 1983. The Foundation is further registered with Niti Aayog (Government of India)

 

The Foundation's legal status as a non-profit allows it to operate in an independent manner while advancing its mission of sustainable, participatory change. 

Mission

Our mission is to empower communities through participatory governance, climate resilience, and heritage preservation. We envision a future where local voices shape policy, cultural traditions thrive, and ecosystems flourish.

Through research, capacity-building, and strategic partnerships, we translate community knowledge into practical solutions that deliver measurable impact.
